Your headshot speaks volumes about who you are and what you do. Want to have high-quality headshots that accurately capture your personality and style? Look no further! I recently did this session in my living room with model Maggie Gallaway, while watching Little Einsteins with my 2 year old.

Get ready to find out how easy it is to get timeless, professional headshots right from your own home!

Having current, professional headshots is so important in this day and age. It’s not only important for small business owners and other entrepreneurs to showcase their products and services, but what’s most important is for you to connect with your potential clients and people viewing your pages. The easiest way to do this is with photos of you!

I love the look of classic headshots. For branding images, I’ll always recommend a more detailed setting so we can get lots of detail shots and variety, but for your headshots, I like a more classic style. Classic portraits can be beneficial to everyone. Whether you need updated photos for a dating or online profile, or if you’re a business professional needing corporate headshots for yourself and your employees, or even just wanting a generational portrait to pass down to your family, I’ve got you covered.

To prepare for your headshot session, I suggest bringing along around 5 outfits to choose from. I typically only shoot 3 different looks, but it’s best to have extras in case we want to switch anything up! For these photos, Maggie brought along a Kansas City Chiefs jersey with a beanie that provided 2 different looks, as well as an orange top and blue jean jacket that also doubled up! The orange top contrasted perfectly against the blue background we selected.

We set up a small backdrop with a 2-light setup and I shot these photos with my Sony A9 and an 85mm lens. I chose the 85mm over my all-time favorite lens, the 35mm, because I absolutely adore the facial compression it gives and it allows for minimal corrective editing.

The entire setup only took up about 10 square feet of space in my home and 20 minutes to construct!

Getting beautiful, classic images for your next headshots can be as easy as sending an inquiry, and letting me bring my studio to you! No one will ever be able to tell you’re wearing sweatpants 😉
