Venice Beach Couple Portraits

I was so glad to get to shoot with Morgan & her husband, Holdyn, again! We’ve previously done family portraits together and I absolutely loved the results. They’re such a fun & good looking couple, I was so happy to get to do some cuddly, PDA filled photos of just the two of them!

Sunset beach portraits are always a good idea, especially when it comes to planning couple photos! I can’t think of a much more romantic setting than watching the sun set over the ocean, while sharing kisses, cuddles, and laughs with your love!

I love getting to be behind the scenes sort of directing your date while allowing you to comfortably flirt and be yourselves. It’s always the best after the first few photos and that awkward “I’m getting my photo taken” feeling wears off. At that point, it really just fades into the two of you and the love you share and I’m able to really capture that bond between people in love.

The sunset at Venice beach rarely fails. On this evening, we met up just as the sun was beginning to set and caught the perfect amount of that golden sunset glow! Sunset sessions are always pretty quick due to how fast the sun can set once it begins to lower, but we always create some of my favorite images in that time.

The sunset sky gives us so many different colors as it’s setting. It’s so cool going through the albums after each session and really get to watch the sky’s display on full right on my compyter screen.

I am so thankful to get to chase sunsets on the beaches of Southern California with amazing people. The best part of my job as a portrait photographer is that I get to meet so many fun, unique families and couples and I get to be involved in helping them tell their story. Getting to do something I love and deliver people with the joy of a memory preserved is unmatched to me.
